I survived my first time at a nudist resort in 2021 called Blue Lake Resort which resides in Erie, Illinois. Blue Lake Resort is a great little community of nudists who I have grown to become friends with during my many travels to this resort in 2021.
The first time I visited the resort they gave me a grand tour on a golf cart and showed me all the different areas of the resort. I felt a bit overdressed during the grand tour since everybody else was nude and I was still clothed at that time.
Once I was dropped back off at my truck I promptly stripped down and I decided to setup a tent and camp there for the weekend where I enjoyed visiting with other nudists. I enjoyed time in the hot tub, hung out around the fire and even took a dip in their pond. Blue Lake is a great place to meet new nudist friends which I did right away!
I continued visiting the resort more in 2021 and some of my friends even joined me at the resort with their camper. I moved onto staying in one of their three apartment style houses they had available before they built their new cabin which I haven’t seen yet in person.

Pros

- Playground for children
- Tanning area
- Fridge in the room
- Tv in the room
- You can buy ice on site
- Registered golf carts allowed
- Bikes allowed
- Hot Outdoor shower
- Three Motel Rooms
- One Cabin
- Electric/Water Hookups
Cons
- Little boring if you go by yourself
- They closed bare buns cafe
- No stove or microwave in the room I stayed in
- Cell phone service is spotty
- Wifi is very limited
- No swimming pool
- Limited rooms to rent
If you visit Blue Lake Resort you will want to bring some of the following items:
- Towels
- Meals to eat while you are there especially for supper
- Sunscreen & Bug spray
- Personal items like soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
Would I go there again? Yes I plan to visit this resort again in 2024 after it warms up.

I’m quite sure it was a total blast and I’m planning to also attend some nudist resorts sometime this summer in GA, AL, TN, NC, SC and PA wearing only my gladiator sandals with my toes painted summer colors.
